I forgot to post this before but me and my best friend who were neighbors were obsessed with Laura Ingalls Wilder and her books when we were 8, 9, and 10 and we would play Little House on the Prairie games. We would take turns being Laura and Mary and my friend even had some bonnets which made the game seem more fun and realistic.

Mandasmom...I think I have you beat. When I was a kid, my kitten got run over by a car. First...we had the funral, and burried her in the back yard. Then...a month later, I made everyone come back to my house, and I dug her up! Twisted.

Actually Jenny, I think we're tied. When I was 3 or 4 my turtle died. I was very sad, and my family helped me have a funeral for him (must have started my later obsession!) My sister gave me some of the satin left over from making her prom dress to wrap him in, and my mom gave me a sweetheart soap box to put him in. We buried him in our backyard, and I'm sure my folks that was the end of the story. Well, a couple days later, I was sure he was lonely and missing me, and I dug him up. My folks found out and we re-buried him. Few days later, same thing-only I made the mistake of showing my older brother (who would have been 13 or 14) at the dinner table what was in my pocket. You can imagine his reaction, and when my Mom and Dad found out, they weren't so understanding anymore! I remember my dad yelling that we were burying him one last time and if I dug him up again, he was going to throw the body into the river. I let my turtle rest in peace after that, and he's still in the backyard. I've always thought that if an archeologist ever dug up my parents backyard someday, they would hit the jackpot!
